Historical Background
The Tannery Industrial Park was initially known as The Tannery and is situated next to the Silverton Station in Pretoria. The Tannery started out in 1904 as an animal hide tanning facility but had to be closed down in 1986 because of it’s smell. From 1986 to 1999 nothing much happed to The Tannery until Hein von Landsberg bought The Tannery on an auction and began to transform it into an industrial park. In a period of 7 years the park was build up from 4 factories to 125 factories, from 37 people working in the park to 1600 and 52000 m² under roof.
